Susan Buckner, who was also recognized as Patty Simcox and had a successful career in both television and film with a standout role in “Grease,” has passed away. Melissa Berthier, a publicist for Buckner’s family, confirmed in a statement that the actor passed away in Miami, surrounded by loved ones, on May 2 in a peaceful manner. The reason for the death was undisclosed.
As per a biography from Buckner’s publicist, she chose to prioritize being a mother to her two children, Adam Josephs and Samantha Mansfield, instead of pursuing a career in Hollywood in her later years. Buckner additionally worked as a drama teacher for kids and provided dance lessons in Coral Gables for close to ten years.
She was the closest friend to me. “I will think of her constantly,” Mansfield stated in a message given to CNN on Tuesday. I was fortunate to have a mother who was like a lighting rod, and now she watches over me as an angel.
